It's so long since I used photoshop that I can't remember how to do this.......

I used a 2 stop ND grad on an image which has affected the upper sections of a building. I've tried to use the adjustment brush in Lightroom, but its very fiddly and time consuming to do it accurately.

In Photoshop I can easily select the affected part of the building, how do I reduce the exposure within the selection?

CTRL+L opens the levels palette, try the middle slider first.
Failing that open a blank layer, change the blend mode to soft light (on the top where it says normal) and paint on it with a low opacity white brush, that'll "paint in some lightness" it's like dodging but without the colour changes.
