I thought Photoshop CS2 comes with Video Training at least the ones at work did.

no, but you can get the tutorial DVDs by the same means if required

Thanks folks, I'll order Scots book as a start and keep a look out for the DVDs mentioned as well..

pete, theres loads of free tutorials out there on the net, google for some..

Boon,

The tutorials I have seen tend to look at one particular aspect or topic..What I need is something that will give me an idea which order I apply the various processes to a picture...Do I alter the exposure first or sharpen? is it best to apply a noise filter before doing any touch up work or after?

I guess that comes under "work flow" and is to a degree variable, but I could do with the basic ground rules so to speak.

Regards,

Pete

The Martin Evening book comes highly recommended by many. Especially the latest CS2 version.

I've asked for it for Christmas :D

I was going to get a book on CS2, but then I looked at my book shelf full of reference books on every thing from electronics to C++ to Access and on and on, at that point I though I wouldn't bother. There is just too much out there on the web, even to work flow routines.

Things I picked up recently include, always create a separate layer for each filter, its a lot easier to switch it on and off to inspect the individual changes. Also leave the sharpening (USM or whatever) until the last item :)

I just got the 'Total Training' packages from these lot...

http://www.totaltraining.com/home.asp

DVD's packed with video training complete with exercise material.
I got the standard and advanced packages.

Nowt like being shown :)

They also do one on digital workflow for photoraphers.

I'm saving for my next package 'Total Training on how to screw the tax man before he screws you'... 2 DVD's crammed with video tutorials from 'how to find a dodgy accountant' to 'setting up an offshore bank account'

Sorry to dig up an old thread. But I was wondering if you ended up finding any online guides that cover an introduction to work flows in CS2?
