photoshop cropping problem!!aagghhh!

I have a problem with the cropping tool. For some unknown reason it has stopped working and will not drag over the area i want cropped, it will drag a little bit but then will stop and not expand over the area that i want cropped!! if that makes sense!

does anyone know why it is doing this?
 
no worries just had a play around and its working now, ive been trying for hours to do it and now that i have posted this it seems to work!!
 
check your aspect ratio settings

also height and width may have been swapped (2 little arrows at top)
 
Did you have it set to a fixed size/resolution in the crop settings by any chance?
 
it had automatically set itself to something so i just clicked clear. im not that efficient with photoshop so would never have changed the settings myself! thanks anyway!
