Hi,
I'm new to this digital photography lark. I was hoping to mess about in Photoshop with a photograph I took this morning but am getting an error when I try to open up Photoshop - "An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format". It then directs me out of Photoshop. I've trawled the net and have found many people with the same problem no-one with a solution. Any ideas ?

Anyhoo, when I lokoed around, I noticed I also have ImageReady and I managed to open this ok then open my photograph. I'm just wondering if someone can tell me the difference between Photoshop and ImageReady. Are there things I can do in Photoshop that I can't do in ImageReady ?

thanks.

Hi gidge - Photoshop is for image manipulation & graphics, ImageReady is for web-design & upload. You won't be able to do a fraction of manipulation with IR than you can with PS. I've not come across that error message before I'm afraid.

I would suggest re-installing Photoshop.

The only thing i've used imageready for is making animation .gif files for the net.

Its kinda fun, but not useful for photography.
