Photoshop 27 (Beta) AI tools

Having watched a video about the implementation of text driven AI edits in the recent version of Photoshop I had reason to try it out almost straight away.

My wife sent me this "can you get rid of the distracting swirly disco lights"

I thought "that's beyond my skill in PS" but I gave the AI tool a go and typed something like "remove the green and yellow swirls covering the people"

Et voila - boggled!!

I did note that my plan only allows me to click "generate" 300 times a month - but I think I'm OK with that

It also has a tool to generate images from scratch which is fun but a bit hit and miss.

Have a free weekend with my wife away and golfing is not looking promising so spent several hours today on photoshop (I am ok with Lightroom but FAR from an expert on PS) with the Nano Banana, Firefly and Flux bolt ons that seem to be swamping YouTube etc and to be honest whilst I have had quite a lot of "abandon" this one I have also had quite a few "yes, that will do very nicely" for our e-commerce business.

All in all its been very interesting and time consuming (sadly used up all the free Nano Banana and Flux credits)

I know this will not be to many peoples tastes but it's pretty mind blowing

These two were done with very little effort from very bland original shots and are perfect for the run up to Christmas (thumbnail added of a typical original image)

GAME OVER is my fair assessment.

It is probably quite low res unless it improved on this very recently. But it will catch up before too long.

It may as well be... I have to rethink the whole thing one way or another. F it.

Those who have the best vision, ideas and can dictate it in an understandable way to AI will do OK. You may play the emotion and luxury feel angle too, although what if you have the emotion in a crappy iphone shot, and then use this to polish it up... probably GAME OVER once again.

The party is officially over, unless you buy the full creative cloud pro (limited use) or firefly plans (a bit less limited use). I'm not too bothered personally anyway; just shoot cleanly and be decent with conventional editing skills like in 2024...
