I'm seeking a little advice about Photoshop 2025 vs 2024.

First a little background.... I'm new to Lightroom/Photoshop having taken advantage of special offers on licensing. Consequently I have of limited experience of the products. I now find my system disk close to capacity with the culprits being Photoshop 2025, Photoshop 2024, Adobe Bridge 2023 and Adobe Bridge 2024.

A little research (Google) reveals that Adobe now preserves previous versions during the update process unless you explicitly ask for them to be deleted. I don't recall what happened when the recent update occurred.

Finally my question, do I ned to keep the 2024 version of Photoshop? Does it does provide anything that Photoshop 2025 does not? Can I just delete the program folder?

Any advice appreciated.

I always get rid of the old versions. Just habit. Fortunately they are named etc so easy enough to do.

There is an uninstall folder in the Photoshop 2024 folder, just use that or login to your CC account and remove from there.

If it does what you need to , there’s little point in change to a later version, than what you have.
Surely the primary reason for paying Adobe's subscription is to lean towards taking upgrades. This is my usual approach. I was trying double check that there was no pressing reason to keep the older version.

Agreed, otherwise you may just as well buy an older copy of PS outright, or even PS elements.

I didn't even realise there were both versions on my system until now which prompted me to check. Well well. Not a problem in my case though.

The primary reason is to have access to the software, although in my case it's lightroom, which is not available outside the sub. I would be happy to freeze the current version as is. But Ps just comes along for the ride.

I am staggered that you have so little disc space. The Adobe Photo suite is almost certainly the most complex software we are likely to run on our computers. The total Adobe file on my PC is 13Gb of a 500Gb disc. My data is on a separate 8 Tb disc.

Topaz is easily 4-5x larger. It keeps bloating like there is no tomorrow

I also had a crazy idea of installing unreal engine for some 3d modelling which I couldn't bother to even start. Well it's yuuuuge yet again

So am I, but unfortunately when my current system was configured it did not include disks like those in your system. It is not completely full, but It is 86% full If I was to spec the system now, I would include a much larger system drive. At the same time as asking here about Photoshop 2024, I am trying to clone the system drive to a 500Gb drive. However this is proving to be a problem. The drive clones ok, but is not recognised when replacing the old system drive....... Another story!

So for now my best plan seems to be uninstall Ps 2024.

Thank you to everyone that offered advice.

That is WRONG. The user has full control over what is updated and when.
Interesting. I don't recall ever ticking anything to change to PS 2025 - it just seemed to appear on my desktop. Maybe I've got something deep in my settings somewhere....

There is an option to turn off auto updates in the creative cloud app., under preferences I think.
