Hi all,
whenever I print say an 10" x 8" on A4 paper on my Canon ip7250 printer, the prints always come out bigger than the size which I have chosen.
i.e. a 10"x8" will come out 10" plus 2 tenths of an inch bigger. Same if printing 6x4 7x5 ect. though it may be a bit less extra. I do usually print border less. But don't recollect this happening before but could be wrong.
Help please!

You cannot print 10x8 borderless on A4 paper! You will be guaranteed a border as 10x8 is smaller than A4.

When you are actually printing borderless (A4 on A4 paper or 10x8 on 10x8 paper), the printer prints over the edge of the paper rather than trying to exactly print to the edge. This is almost certainly the extra 2 tenths you are getting.

Sorry my mistake, I should have said, when I print 3 6x4 or 2 7x5 on A4 or one10x8 on A4 and the photos are near to the edge I have been using border less to make sure they print fully . So I should not be using border less printing in these situations?

There is no point in printing borderless if the picture is smaller than the paper because it just is not going to be borderless. If you want a 10x8 print, print to 10x8. You can rely on the printer actually printing that size. You will get the picture you are after that way. Printing borderless means, as you have found, that the result is slightly larger so when you cut the A4 paper (which I assume you are doing) to 10x8 (or 6x4 or whatever) you are cropping a piece off the edge of the picture. If you are using Photoshop, the printer driver will, if asked, print trimming marks to help you cut accurately.

Thank you John. I use Photoshop CS2. I never knew about "print trimming marks to help you cut accurately". I will have to look into that.
