Photomatix Question

When creating HDR photos in photomatix, is it best to align source images by

1. Correcting horizontal and vertical shifts

Or

2. Matching features.

Also do you also check the 'Attempt to reduce ghosting artifacts' box too?

I always use matching features with hand held shots (works for me) I only use the ghosting if theres something moving between shots, water or people etc.

do you get the same result from taking 3 seperate exposures at -1,0+1 or using one RAW file and changing the exposuse beforehand and saving 3 times?

Personally I prefere 3 exposures at 2 stops difference, I find the single raw conversions tend to be have more noise.

You'll get better results with seperate exposures, but when that's not possible, like a moving target, a single one will work, but as Wayne said, with more noise.

just thinking does changing them manually in cs produce the same results at all?
