Photomatix Pro

I have been using Photomatix Pro for a while now and wondered if I have got it set up correctly. When I have loaded say 3 pics into the program the picture ends up looking very grainy and hard to establish exactly what I am changing. Its only upon exporting back to lightroom I can see exactly whats been done in a much clearer state. Is this just me or the program. I would have expected the picture to show up very clear within the program to start off with

I think Photomatix applies the last settings used to the current 'new' import. Try clicking on reset>default (it's just below the adjustments sliders) to start off from scratch again .

You shouldn't be getting a problem, Photomatix will save a very useable pic, I normally save in tiff or jpeg ,,, a recent example:-

Not sure where I was going wrong then. I was using v4.1 but having just discovered v4.2 64bit it has resolved the problem altogether. Thanks for the responses

Oh yes 4.2 is a vast improvement IMO.
