Photomatix: Exposure Fusion or HDR

Just aqquired the most recent version of Photomatix Pro.

I have noticed there is now an option to create 'Exposure Fusion'....

Whats the difference this and HDR?

Would any care to explain?

Exposure Fusion is much the same as using layers IIRC.

It takes the multiple exposures and just uses the best pixel from those available to build the picture to give you the 'best available' as it were.

A bit like exposure blending really.
