Yes
As both a forum and photography noob I struggled to find inspiration and ability with this first photo.

After considering what 'curved' means to me and taking into consideration the time of year I decided to me it means post-Christmas bulge (and the tape measure is technically curved too, so fingers crossed it passes the theme test).

works well from where i am sitting!

Hello and from another total noob I really like that sorry I can't technically comment but keep up the good work

I really like that image.

I think it manages to fit the theme both "as is" and as a reference to a persons shape  Good start!

Excellent, and on theme too. As has been said, it's your project, and your theme. The interpretation is up to you. If the image shows the theme in whatever you have chosen we should be able to see it. Given some of the images that got posted and passed as a themed image last year  by me and others ...

The only thing I would say, it looks a little dark on my screen (laptop, not callibrated, so could just be me) along the lower edge.

That's nicely put together with just the right lighting.

That works well for me... both the idea and the execution!

Thanks for all the feedback. :)

I think I agree about the bottom right corner, I was bouncing my flash off the ceiling, I perhaps should have been a bit further back and zoomed in more.

I really struggled with this one, for both inspiration and time. So here you go, achieved with one old pair of socks, on pair of scissors, a felt tip pen and my toe!

Holes In Socks!

Holes are good in donuts
and for putting keys in locks.
Holes are good in some things,
but holes aren’t good in socks.

Holes taste great in swiss cheese.
We need holes for wearing rings.
But how do holes get in my socks?
Holes belong in OTHER things!

Holes work fine in inner tubes
and to put mail inside the box.
Holes work fine in things like that
but holes don’t work in socks!

Holes make scissors cut right
and open pockets for my rocks.
I DO need holes in special things,
but who needs holes in socks?

Holes have to be in noses
and our ears to hear friends talk.
Holes have to be in body parts,
but WHO put HOLES in socks?

Holes do let the puddles fill
to splash in on our walks,
but HOLES IN SOCKS JUST GRAB MY TOES ...
I Hate Holes In Socks!

Hi photomaker, and welcome to TP!

Your week 1 pic has plenty of curved things going on and certainly fits the theme. It's just a tad under-exposed for my money.

Your week 2 pic has some colour balance issues I think, or are your toes really orange? It's very colourful though, it's funny and it goes very well with the theme - well done! :-)

Love the week two shot. Lot's of fun.

Hey, i really like number 1 - curves, i could imagine that in a weightwatchers magazine etc, welldone you!!
Number 2 - poems made me smile and thats fantastic for an image to get good emotions, so very welldone!! off to a great start...very creative, cant wait to see week 3 :D

2 really good shots.
Week 1 - fits the theme well and is perfect for this time of year.
Week 2 - a good colourful photo and a good poem

 welcome to TP and to the 52.
What a great way to start too

Week 1 : Needs no explanation or justification of the theme for me. Definitely says curved, both in the composition and the message behind it. Good execution of it too. Shadows are maybe a little harsh, but really don't detract from the image at all.

Week 2 :  Very good! Great fun shot and an amusing poem to go with it. Doesn't look like the easiest angle to get your foot at and manage to shoot it, but you've composed it well. I love the colourful stripey sock in the background.
WB looks a little warm on the skin tones on my lappy too, but that's a very minor niggle to fix.

very clever, witty and funny image and poem.

Haha, funniest one iv seen this week,
Really creative idea and you have pulled it off well.
Would never of guessed that was a toe if I hadnt read your post!
Will check back next week to see what else you come up with :)

Couple of great starting shots! Love the comedy factor in both the poetry and photo for poetry week

Just catching up with your photos. :)

Week 1: Definitely on theme, and clever. I found myself tracing the tape measure over and under .... (sad, eh!) but it held my attention and the table setting set it off very well.

Week 2: Brilliant. Very witty poem and cleverly illustrated. The colours match the light-hearted mood of the poem. Even the little face on your toe is expressive.

A little bit late on this one. The plan with this photo was initially to use myself and a friend in this photo but that went out the window so instead I had to use my husband's face to get the hand right and then photoshop my head down into the photo.

Not used photoshop properly in years so it's bit rough. I couldn't work out how to blend my hair in properly. You get the idea of what I was aiming for anyway. ;)

A great take on the theme and nicely done! good stuff

Week 1 - A little dark and would have liked to have seen the whole of the fork, but curves a plenty in the tape.

Week 2 - Lovely fun, colourful shot. I love it

Week 3 - Nice idea but you picked some tricky PP to try out which isn't quite working.

Completely agree, I plan to try redoing this with two people that I can leave in the photo so that all I have to do is remove the lower persons neck.

Love week 1, totally fitting the theme, the time of year and indeed the times in general - bit un-sparkly for me but otherwise, best all-round curvy pic I have seen and that idea, (with a few meatballs) would be great for an ad...

Week two, funny, apt and bright, I like it and the poem.

Week three. Hmm. Odd idea, would maybe work if you PS'd it to look like an out of sync frame (2 frames... ) kind of thing? Hard to explain but regardless, this picture to me looks more like a concept picture than a finished one?

I saw it done in a magazine and really liked it. I will definately be coming back to do doing it properly rather than having to edit it in Gimp, I just didn't have the opportunity this week.

I think I added my two cents when TP was having probs as my post has gone :(

week 1: I liked the concept, nice work
week 2: was simple and effective, great colours
week 3: More time needed to perfect the editing, idea is a good one, but not easy to
do without the knowledge of Photoshop

Dont give up - play with the idea, Im sure another shot at it you will learn more and be happier with the results ;)

Very clever idea for Chopped... it's almost there... the PP needs a little work... perhaps leaving a gap at the top of the frame between neck and edge...

A lack of free time in hours of daylight Monday to Friday, and a busy day planned for today left me with no other choice but going out in the dark. I'm not quite confident enough to hang around the city centre at night so I kept it local.

This roundabout is just around the corner from my 'street'. Many thanks to my husband for driving around the roundabout a couple of times for me, donating front, rear and indicator lights to the photo.

This was my first proper attempt at night time photography, by proper I mean selecting all the settings myself rather than picking one setting to control and letting the camera work the rest out from there. There was nothing to stand on to get a high perspective (inconsiderate people having bushes round their garden edges rather than walls) so instead I got the tripod low to the ground.

Finally got round to straightening it:

W2 Lots of colour and a fun take on the theme with the poem

W3 Great idea, you could always come back to it when your PP skills improve

W4 Nice to see a bit of team work involved. Would like to see it cropped without the street light and maybe a little straighten.

Liking the street shot, as Scott said maybe a straighten but otherwise it's cool, even to the arrow for the lights :D

Arthur

Your poor husband! The neighbours must have thought he was mad driving round and round.

Agree that it needs a bit of a straighten, but it's a really good attempt. Light trails are on my list of must tries . . . just not got round to it yet.
I think these type of shots work better when there is more traffic and more lights, but you've still managed to get some nice swirls in there.
