I am currently doing a foundation art course, specialising in photography and I have previously done an A-level in photography. I wish to go on to University to do a BA in photogarphy, and I am applying this year, but i am stuck on where to go.
I've heard that Falmouth is good, Brighton and Newport also.
Any advice, where is good/bad, any experience on these courses?
Thankyou, Jess

I've heard good things about Brighton and Newport. They have a very tight network, their documentary and editorial courses are of a very high standard.

Swansea Met do a 'Photography in the Arts' course that my friend is currently doing an MA in, she enjoys it.

It depends on what you are interested I guess? Blackpool has a good rep as well. I would have a look on Source Magazine's Undergraduate Site. You will get a good idea of the type of work each Uni produces. :)

Guess it depends what type of photography you want to do but yeah Falmouth has an excellent reputation, the London College of Communication is also meant to have a good photography course but I would say that because I'm applying for an MA in it there :P

Can you not just do a year top up degree to get a BA seen as you are already doing the Foundation Degree?

I'm trying to choose a B.A course at the moment too. Falmouth seems like the best, especially for fashion & editorial. Glasgow school of art has a good fine art photography course & Thomas Cooper is the head of it, but it's VERY arty farty

 The GSA is very arty but not very good at giving you an idea of what to do when you leave! The Visual Communication course at GSA is supposedly very good, a few of my friends are on it right now and they enjoy it more than the Fine Art Photography one.

What type of photography are you interested in? Anything particular, or a broad spectrum? Do you want to work as a commercial/social photographer, or an artist, or something unrelated?

Applied for that too, but the photography in it doesn't seem too good. Maybe they should merge the two courses :naughty:

Possibly documentary photography, not so much fashion or fine art photography, I heared Newport do a good documentary photography course does anyone know much about about it from personal experience?
