Not sure if this is the right part of the forum but I need some help!

My father in law has always been keen on photography and bought himself a Canon 500D last year to kick start him into doing more.

However, he is a little daunted by all the settings and despite my 5 minute attempts while I visit we've both decided that he learns much better 'hands-on'.

It's his 50th Birthday at the end of the year so we thought about buying him a days photography course. I'll pay for myself and go to give hima bit of encouragment, (and so I can learn some more bits).

The question is, does anyone here have any experience of these courses, and ultimately recommend someone. I live just north of Bournemouth and he lives in Kent. We are happy to travel a bit either way or somewhere in the middle...

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks gramps, just had a look on the website and he's away from now until early next year so won't be any good.

Anyone else any ideas?

MadFrankie,

How about here:- http://www.thephotographyschool.co.uk/ one day course at Reading about 1 1/2 for both of you. quoted at £79.00.

Looks quite favourable and only 6 to a class so you should be able to get some focused (forgive the pun) attention throughout that day.

Best of Luck

Great idea for a gift

Canon run some training programmes for EOS users. Run by an independent agency (cant remember the name) and approved by canon. Should be able to find the info on canon uk website
