Has anyone got any recommendations for any clubs based around the Chessington (KT9) area of surrey.

I`ve kind of figured that it`s all very well reading things in books, but there`s nothing quite like showing pictures to others and learning from them!

Plus, I thought that it might get me photographing things that I possibly wouldn`t have considered.

Cheers again!

I think I'm right in saying that there is a "Talk Photography based" club in your area - I know some of the guys on here were talking about it not so long ago.

Cheers, if anybody`s got any info or links to the threads, that'd be mightily helpful.

Are there many of you in clubs and such or are you more "free spirit" sort of people?

Do you find much value in belonging? I thought it`d be a good way to discuss ideas and get feedback. Pretty much what you do on here I suppose!

Witch - Jonnyreb was the instigator of this as there are quite a few from TP here in the Surrey / Hants / Berks "corner" - minkey-monkey is in Chessington which although is Surrey isn't that close but if travelling over this way isn't a problem by all means minkey-monkey you're more than welcome
Paul ;)

Cheers for that, roughly whereabouts do you meet up?

Our first meet was Aldershot & the next one (21st IIRC) is due to be nr Reading ... Paul ;)
PS - There's a thread running in Meetings Forum under heading Surrey / Hants / Berks Club or similar (?)

Hi Minky Monkey

You're more than welcome to join us in our 'free spirited camera club' :)

We all decided on meeting up the first time that we'd like to get together for a coaching / editing / ideas sharing meet fortnightly, with ad-hoc photo-shoots thrown in. That way, we keep the impetus up (and get a kick in the backside to get out and take photo's) and also learn about image editing software, HDR software, interpolation software and printing techniques.

Grendel 'The Daddy' is hosting our next session at his place near Reading on Wednesday the 21st - I guess it would make sense if PaulBoy, rwotton and myself shared transport so if you can get yourself to the Frimley, Camberley, Farnborough area feel free to car share with us :)

Bring along a low light / night shot with you

I've said it before and i'll say it again, I'm an idiot!!!

Sorry Cheryl

:help:

Hi Minky Monkey (love that name!). Just to second Jon, you'd be more than welcome to join us next Wednesday. We've all had a few weeks now to take our low light shots so I guess we've had a bit of a head start ;)

Jon how could you have forgotten to mention Cheryl in the car share, you nasty man  ;)

:embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Last time you went that red you had half a bottle of Glenmorangie in you iirc  :D

Out of interest what`s the subject matter? Midweek stuff is always tricky for me as I`m on a 24hour call out for my recovery firm, I`ll have to see if I can do some shift swaps.

No specific subject matter, just a photo taken in low light

 lol Kev! I was thinking the same :D

I sold that when Daddy said he had a spare room ;)

Joking aside - I've always fancied a late summer evening shoot on top of St Catherines Hill next to Winchester. Some great views looking down onto an aquaduct and Winchester in the distance. Also, for those that it appeals to, a view down onto the M3 on the otherside :)

... another one to pencil in for our "merry band" then - nice scenery or roadkill  ... Paul ;)

Nice idea Paul, only my garden is smaller than my lounge  There is a very nice pub with a garden not a million miles away though :D

St Catherines Hill sounds like a great idea for a future shoot Clueless
