Ive been frustrated recently with not getting close to animals such as hares and deer so I thought about getting a tent/hide of some kind. I have a huge amount of patience but my equipment is really limiting the quality of my photos. Does anyone have any experience in the matter or could point me in the right direction?

Ive also considered a ghillie suit as I tend to do a lot of pronong and concealing myself.

The area Im currently doing a project is very flat and if Im moving the animals scatter as quick as you can say 'damn'!

IIRC last Autumn CT started a thread in this forum as he was looking to get a hide and there were many good suggestions and advice given. You may want to search for that thread.

HTH.

If you google CJ Wildbird food, they sell a good hide. I've got one of theirs.. it works a treat and keeps the rain out, is quite tall, so I sit in it with a little seat of my own, it has four zippable windows and pops up instantly and packs away within half a minute and is very light (like a larger reflector bag) and has pegs to stabilize it in high wind.

I recently got this hide off ebay for £50. Its very easy to put up and take down about a 60 seconds.
Its big enough for 2 or 3 togs and gear. It might be a bit big for your needs but it is designed for hunting. The material masks your sent ect. so it should be good for deers and hares.
I have only used it to hide from birds (Kingies) at the mo. But it seems to do the job.
