Photography at Media City Salford. The official position.

I was down to go on the meet to Salford on Saturday, but had to cry off due to injury. I have read the thread and was concerned that the usual jobsworth tried to chase the others off the site. I have spoken with jobsworths before and have had nothing but interest and curiosity from them. They have invariably been helpful. As I am planning a return trip, with tripod I decided to e-mail Peel Holdings who own the area and here is their reply...

Please accept our apologies with regards to the incorrect information being passed to you with regards to the procedure for taking photographs at MediaCityUK Ltd.

MediaCityUK Ltd allows anyone to take photographs on site for their own personal use, however if they wish to take photographs for any commercial benefit they must obtain a permit from our permit office, to arrange this you can contact the team on 0161 855 6420 or email: permitoffice@mediacityuk.co.uk

It is the policy of the team to ask questions of people who are taking photographs across the site, to ensure they are complying with the above procedures.

So it appears that Mr High Viz jacket was wrong. Now there's a surprise.

Having been one of the hassled, I would suggest that anyone going there with a tripod in the near future, print out a copy of the above and take it with them!!!
