Yes
So how many of you will leave your gear in the corner for the duration of the World Cup?
I've got that feeling that it will be collecting dust over the coming weeks :(

Not me

But then again I don't give two hoots about football, world cup or otherwise.

I for one do not give a toss about the football. The only consolation is that many people will be indoors wasting there time watching it and I can go out with my camera and enjoy the solitude.

My gear will certainly not be gathering dust during the next 4 weeks.

Well I'll be watching a LOT of games, as many as I can actually.

However, my studio lights are being delivered next week and I have a bunch of people waiting for some studio shoots so I shall be busybusybusy with my photography!

Chris, I'm with you, I'll be in front of the TV whenever there's a match on (and probably watching highlights when there's not....:D)

The camera won't get a look in until after the final.

Whilst I wouldn't want to change the frequency of the competition, 4 years is such a long time to wait!! :(

I have had a similar outlook for many decades.
When workmates etc. said they were going golfing or to football etc at the weekend I'd always say "Great stuff - spend as much time as you can doing that and leave the countryside nice and empty for me".

The world cup is great for me, as it's blasted on about all so often on tv and radio i can see myself getting out of the house as often as possible, probably with the camera. starts tomorrow with an airshow then sunset hunting commencing 7pm prompt! bloody overpayed tarts kicking a ball around. Will never forget Lawrence Dallaglio's saying on footballers, just like andrex- a bit soft and overpriced

I used to go to a lot of England games.. for me its died a bit with foriegn managers and my interest has drained... I would rather flop and fail with an English man in charge than win it with johnny forigner..

When are England playing, I can go and do some peaceful shopping and togging with out people in the way.

Ill be doing MORE photography during the next few weeks as there be nowt on telly besides boring football.

Can't say i ahve seen/heard anything like that.. the usual banter from the jocks maybe but certainly nothing OTT

For the most part there's not really bitterness but there is an intense dislike of the media pundit's arrogance in assuming that you're going to win it. I can't remember who it was yesterday prattling on about "when we meet Germany in the semis. if THEY get through".

On the subject of pundits you can keep Alan Hansen, we don't want him either :p

I'll be watching a few of the games but it won't slow down my photography.

Rushing to do product shots at work, shot cars last friday and a portrait session sunday, got the WHF visit tomorrow....

The bitterness from the other home nations baffles me!

Small mindedness seems to describe it.

I am not a rugby (or other team sports follower either), but cannot help noticing that the rugby types all seem much more sporting and traditionally socialise with opponents.
Football seems to have lot of fans that seem to detest each other and often need to be segregated to avoid trouble.
That's not healthy.

Looks like this thread would be better in OOF now.

Love football hate over paid prima donnas and why stay in and watch Englands "Golden generation" let us down once again,my camera will take a hammering over the next month especially tomorrow when I have a wedding and next week when I have the whole week off

I hate football can't till it's over...How long does it last ?

Im a Northern Ireland fan and dont mind the England team or supporters and would like to see them do well. What I HATE...... sorry DISPISE is the way the British media hypes England up. Every World Cup its Englands best chance since 1966, the players are all in there prime BLAH BLAH BLAH, I have been hearing that since Gaza was playing and it gets pretty irratating. I would say thats a reason why the Northern Irish, Irish, Welsh and Scottish give England such a hard time.

I do hope they do well and think as a fan of the Premiership and particularly Spurs, if England won it would be great for the league. Honestly I dont think they have any chance of winning, Quater Finals maybe but not winning it.

To answer the OP, I will watch as much as I can but probably still be able to get out and about.

P.S. Who would have guessed the majority of people intrested in photography aren't very intrested in football

A good opportunity for me to earn some extra overtime, as most of my work mates want the time off...

Now, what to buy with all the overtime money???

Saturday evening. Right in the middle of a horse event I agreed to do before realising the date :bang:
I shall be leaving early to see the game even though I am Welsh. I only ride the "anyone but England" bandwagon for rugby :naughty:
