Going to a 20 / 20 at Chelmsford on Friday. Does anyone know about the rules about taking pics at cricket venues as opposed to football?

tell us what the venue is and level of comptetition

Are you in the crowd or there officially?

Im assuming the crowd............

My limited experience shooting county cricket is that the stewards and clubs aren't really bothered by people shooting from the stands

county cricket does have a press system where you can apply for a pass.. but as andy says theers a massive difference between this and football.. not nearly as tough on photogrpahers.

I found this out the hard way at Lord's on the 5th day at the Ashes test in 2009. I decided not to take my camera in case it was confiscated and used my phone instead. I felt a right numpty sitting in the stands shooting with my phone while everyone else had DSLR's :bang:

No probs at Chelmsford - (got in with my 7D and 50-250mm and no-one seemed to give a toss) might dare to post some pics tomorrow

Anyone interested cheap tickets for next Weds - £10 and £5 - I can't go unfortunately - good entertainment - highly recommended

This is good to know as I plan to go to Chelmsford too (can't make Weds though:().

I know it's a small ground, any advice on the best stand to sit in for good shots?

We were sat in the family stand (Tiptree)which was a pretty good spot as the late sun was behind us. In front of us were kids playing on the grass and in front of them was the boundary fence which seemed the ideal spot although didn't feel able to blag my way in with my son!

All the pros were by the side screen - not much room for the likes of us i would imagine!
