Photobox broken?

I know there was a thread about this a couple of days back but I'm having different problems.

1) Remember Me doesn't work on any browser.

2) The ActiveX uploader is broken, IE7 tells me the Add On is disabled but when I check the list it's not there and I can't uninstall something that's not there and reinstall it :(

3) I can't use the Java version of the uploader, even though it's set in my Photobox prefs I'm still given the ActiveX version.

So far I've deleted all cookies, rebooted and tried to remove all signs of the imageuploader.ocx from the system and registry. Nada. Harsh language isn't helping either.

I've emailed their support but no reply...
 
I ordered a few prints the other day from their new site and found it to be very slow. Not impressed so far, particularly as there was nothing wrong with the old site.
 
I could be wrong and i'm not at home so can't check, but I think they are in the processing of moving their site. I had an e-mail about my pro gallery being moved. This might be related to the problem your having.
 
They are in the process of launching a new site I think.

One sec I'll go check the email.
 
Its bobbins, I lost the links to all the albums shared with me when it moved my stuff to the new site. Don't like the layout either to be honest.
 
Well, I logged in yesterday to check the new site out, my albums were there and it worked fast enough though I'm not keen on the re-loading each time I want to go back a page. Went back in just now and I'm still logged in so it must be remembering me ok. Using Opera.
 
Oh great... I have about 80 images to upload and do today!!!
 
I got through to support on the phone, they're aware of problems for some users such as settings not sticking, etc. and will let me know when it's been fixed - no indication of how long that might be. Looks like they brought the new site online a bit too soon :(
 
i ordered some photos yesterday - they seem to be migrating the data accross when you log in so the site will be slow for a while. the new uploader does not seem to work but the basic uploading system works ok - i'm sure they will get it sorted

i've just looged in and got some stats from my account
i have ordered 209 times - brought 1620 photos and spent around £1000 - i think i also have around 25Gb of space in my account!

From the Photobox site

If you have any shared albums that aren’t currently visible, this is likely to be because your friends who shared the albums have not moved to the new site yet. When they do you will once again be able to see these shared albums.

May be the reason.

I used it the other day and had no problems at all, the new uploader worked fine and everything - I use Firefox though, haven't tried it with IE.

looked into my profile - order history - copied it to a spredsheet and let that do the maths - number of photos cost and orders
 
logged on no probs, ordered pictures at ten oclock message later on dispatched recieved this morning two days after ordering so still very happy quality expectional that was a 20x16 print

very happy well recomended
 
I received an email from Photobox last week inviting me to try out the new site and offering me 30 free prints. Only trouble was I couldn't log on to the site until this week by which time the offer had expired! All my progallery stats have been about two months behind and basically I haven't been happy. So it is quite comforting to know I'm not the only one. I have exchanged a number of emails with them and at no point have they apologised. I agree with other posters that maybe they switched to the new site just a little bit too early. Perhaps a little more testing would have been appropriate before going live
 
Sorted it now, did a complete reset of IE7 and it's working again, now I just have to reset all my plugins, passwords, etc. :(
 
Phew then, :thumbs:

I've had endless trouble with that unloader in the passed ...only to find it was me uploading tiffs and not jpegs. :nuts:

New site looks thoughtful initially I think, some useful addons ...although I've not got my creations ...and the link to the old site creations gives me just a month or two to use them, which is a bit of a bummer considering how long they all took to put together ....

Think I'll ask via a email what they can do to help me.. :D
