To cut a long story short, due to a combination of us moving house after our wedding, and our tog going AWOL on us after that, I am in the situation were we have a DVD of all our images but no photobook from him. After some recent emailing we have been given a very fair partial refund, and considering we were sent all of the images he took on a DVD with no watermarking I am happy with that, but I need to sort out the photo album.

What companies do you use/recommend for printing these?

I assume its just a case of designing each page in PS and exporting in a suitable format (I make it sound so easy!)

Try Ouse Valley Processing they have their own software, after designing your album you can upload or burn to disc and send to them.
Another one to look at is Aperture Books, album design software really easy to use, upload again very easy.
Both companies are based in the UK, with really helpful customer service.

Just used aperture books today, if you create the image the size of the page, it will let you fit it the the page and its very simple to use! I will see how good they are when the book gets here but so far so good, including ringing for help :)

Do let me know what you think of the finished product, its nice how they make their print requirements easy to find so its straight forward to get a design put together :)

I'd like to say it's a really well printed book but as i ordered it 2 weeks ago, paid for it 2 weeks ago and still not recieved it, I can't.

They've promised delivery a few different days and it's still not been dispatched so fingers crossed for tomorrow....

I was recommended Blurb, and have used them myself. Good service and delivery, straightforward to upload photos and you can choose the layout, backgrounds, colours, etc. to make the book as individual as you like. The quality seemed pretty good to me (better than others I have seen) although I went for the middle quality.

i will second albelli got a portrait book 120 pages customized cover for 35 quid instead of 120
