Morning all.

After much dithering and faffing about, I've finally got a nice shiny photoblog set up.
I'm really hoping it'll fire the enthusiasm again, and get me thinking about photography a bit more than I have of late.

It's at www.adverse-camber.co.uk if you'd care to take a look. Comments much appreciated, on the style, content, and pics.
I've not done much on the links page, so if you'd like your blog/website added, just drop me a line at it shall be done!

Thanks for looking. :)

Dave

i'm liking the idea. simple but effective.
I'll be working on a website very soon, so sure will pass you link :)

the shots look nice too, both of them :)

Looks great mate. What are you using to run it? Custom design or out of the box software?

Either way, the design, layout and feel of it looks good. Clean, functional and quick.

The only concern I have is that the default size for the first pic is 700 high, and with the design of the site, I have to scroll to see the whole image.

My monitor is 1440x900

Thanks everyone, for the nice comments.
I'm using Pixelpost, which is a really nice bit of software. Basically, all it does is provide some templates, and does some funky database things in teh background, but provides you with an admin panel making it very easy to add pictures, and edit things.

Marcel, I can see what you mean, a couple of people have mentioned this to me now. It's odd, I very rarely take portrait oriented shots, but now I've got three! I'll have a look at reducing the size of the shots to better fit the page.

Good stuff. I was working for a while on a website and photoblog (although not daily, as I don't have time unfortunately) but got sidetracked. It'll be nice to watch your online archive grow, and I think it would also be nice to look back at the end of the year and reflect on all the things you saw.

i like it, clean and efficient, thanks for the link too, very civilized of you!

That was an issue I had too. Its due to the fixed footer. I post 700px high images on my photoblog but at 1440x900 I can still see the full image in Firefox. I think without the footer, or at least having the footer after the image you would be able to see it.

Cheers Pete. I had a feeling it would be something to do with that, but can't have a play till I get home.

Yup sounds about right. Make the footer loose and it'll be fine.

I post 700 pix high shots to my blog (well, did, and will, but you know :p), and they fit nicely without a footer.

Cool beans, will do!

I was wondering about getting the feed into the General Photo forum, other people do that, right?

Hi again.
I've changed the footer so it's not fixed. Does that help the viewing of hte portait shots now? Can you see all of the image?

Also, if anyone wants me to add their blog/site to my links page, I'll gladly do so.

Cheers all!

Must be the season for it - I've just started a photoblog that can be found here: http://johnhobsonphotography.co.uk/

I've been working on getting the site ready for ages, surprising how long it takes to get it 'just right' as I'm sure you can appreciate!
