I was surprised that there isn't a forum for talking about sharing photos on various social media sites, so I thought I'd create an open thread for this kind of discussion.
And I thought I'd start it off with mention of a fairly new photo-sharing app for Android and iPhone called Pidgeon. (No, I've no idea why it's spelt with a 'd'.) It's free to sign up and use and it's aiming to be a replacement for Instagram. Nice for those of us who refuse to use anything owned by Facebook (sorry, Meta), or anyone else looking for somewhere to share photos and view others' pictures. As it's an app, it could be very useful for sharing something you just snapped with your smartphone. The iPhone app mostly works on iPad, but on my iPad Mini 6 I couldn't assign a photo I was uploading to a particular category as the photo took up the entire screen, and the category selection was below the photo. Perhaps they'll work on this.
When I signed up, there didn't seem to be a lot there. I went back to take a look this evening and in half an hour or so I'm following 13 new people and had to slow down as there's too much to look at. The quality of photos there is generally good, and there seems to be something for most tastes.
Here's how I found out about it:
