Hi i am new to this forum today. I am looking to buy a photo printer get fed up of Boots printing my pics and cutting off tops of heads or feet missing! I have max £250 to spend can anyone recommend anything. I am running from Vista and want to print certainly to A4 size.

I can't tell you what model to buy, but £250 is a good budget, and from what little I know, I would say spend around £100 on a printer and use the rest to buy a stock of paper and ink, as these are major expenses..!
I have an Epson R220 which does a pretty good job and something similar would only cost around £50 these days I guess..
 
Hi there

I just went thru this dilemma a few weeks back and, after much research and seeking advice here and on a couple of other forums, I plumped for the Canon Pixma iP4500. It's a great printer, works at A4 size and below and can be had on the high street for about £75.

I needed to tweak the colour management settings slightly such that my printed images matched those on my screen but, having done that, it is producing some superb result!
 
i have an Epson RX585 i think it is

prints are of high quality BUT its all down to paper

thee are loads of crap papers out there IMO and some good ones

the best ones i have found are Epson premium paper270gsm and FujiFilm 270gm

the others i have found to be poor, Kodak, HP and there is another that i cant remember

thats printing in A4, 5x7 or 4x6
