Hi guys

Just looking for a bit of guidance really on how to create a photo montage in Photoshop. I did have a guide on how to do it but I have lost it. I'm guessing it is quite simple. All I want to do really is have 3 or 4 photos put on the same canvas spaced out.

I've had a little go but could not get it quite right.

Sorry my explanation isn't amazing.

Have a read here, it's basically the same principle but you can miss out the 1st part about the passport photo size.

This will be fine if you just want images on the canvas but if you want all the images blended into each other then that's another tutorial. :)

You will need to adjust the sizes to suit ............unless you want a 6x4 canvas :)

The easiest program to do the type of thing you want to do is Picasa with the Collage option.

Choose your four images, click on Create Photo Collage/Collage and choose the final print size. Choose Mosaic from the pull down menu. Click and drag the pics into the order you want, move the slider to space them out. Click on Drop Shadow to add a er, Drop Shadow. ;) Job done.

If you want odd number of images, you can choose Picture Pile as an option and place images where you want.

Not every problem needs the most sophisticated software. ;)

It took longer to type than to actually do. :bonk:

I agree with Redhead17 as I have CS4, PE10 & LR4 but I still use Picasa as my main browser, to straighten, to crop & various other easy to use options including collages.

Would Photoshop’s own contact print in automate do what you ask?
Set the size you want, the number of rows, and the amount of columns.
IE
5in x 5in on 2cols x 2rows = 4 images on a page.
Or am I missing something

Try this site http://www.gingerpixel.com/review/storyboard-templates/

You should be able to find what you want to do on there you can downlaod the templates from it as well.

Hey Neil

Thanks for the link. I have created my own in the past but this is a great find. I took some snaps last week of my better half baking. I posted the finished image of the cake back then but thought later I could do some story board type images next time.
Just had a go with last weeks images and these templates they work a treat.
Thanks again

What do you think ?

Gaz.
