Photo competitions

Hi all

How do you submit your pics when entering competitions? what format, size etc...

Normally each comp has it's own guidelines, Check the comp rules for full details.

If it doesn't say a size I normally upload a 800pixel on the longest side version (maybe a 1000 if the shot has more detail) if the photo gets anywhere they can ask for a larger version then saves them being able to use it for any print purposes (thought their T&C should cover any usage) But then I have only found one comp that didn't stipulate a size.

I can't find any rules or conditions etc it's just email to an editor :shrug: I guess I'll try lo-res versions of about a thousand pixels or so as Jimmy said

Its unusual for the comp not to list requirements...a word of warning too - check the full terms & conditions before entering, more & more competitions seem to be removing your rights to the photo once its entered

I think I'll email them regarding this as there are no T&C's on the website
