Hi, can anyone advise of what is the best cataloging software to use? I am building up quite a collection of folders on my pc filled with pictures and need a better way of locating a picture quickly, other than trawling through lots of folders.

Steve

Lightroom.

(there is nothing else to say)

Lightroom's pretty good although I also found ACDSeePro good too. Is less resource intensive but also fewer features. It's also a bit cheaper.

Lightroom for me too -

If you're getting serious, Lightroom is worth its weight in gold!

Another for Lightroom.

The beauty of Lightroom is that you can search for any photo by any of the keywords, folder names or embedded meta-data, or combinations of the aforementioned.

Since I started using ACDSEE Pro 2.5 I have just about stopped using all other photo software, except PSP7 (having used Adobe*,PSP12 etc) for cloning out marks.

I use ACDSEE to store and manage all my photographs, plus batch change sat/exp/size/shade/light/name painlessly for our website. I have just bought another copy and it cost me £50'ish.
