Hi guys,

I'm really interested in getting an open photo booth set up for events but I don't know where to start with back drops and stands, does anyone have any suggestions?

Ideally I'm looking for a set up that includes being able to print it out on the night also.

- Wondering if this would be suitable, someone recommended that you buy 4 and make a cube but I am failing to see why you would do this unless it's a lighting reason or they just want to be enclosed
*I am thinking this would be better then a studio set up though as everyone wouldn't be walking over the backdrop and you don't need to do full lengths for a "photo booth"

- If anyone does this, what sort of prints do you give out on the night? Strips or 6x4s or smaller?
- How would you light this given it will have big groups in it and is just for fun shots? (This is the main importance so I know what equipment I need to go alongside it)
- I've been looking at the DSLR photobooth software - can anyone recommend this.

Last two years I have gone on holiday and the hotel has had a "booth", first year was two soft boxes, or umbrellas (I may have been slightly drunk and it was a couple of years ago now), last year it was a socked beauty dish directly above the camera (but was much more automated for the hotel staff to run, rather than a photographer). No big surprise the pics from the first year were so much better.

I think you need to take a breath and decide what it is you want to achieve, then ask how. ATM you're asking what you should be shooting, surely that's you're decision? Or am I missing something?

Yes most likey. I'm over tired and not thinking straight ATM which is why I've tried to narrow it down to a few questions. To be honest I think I'm set really as speaking to two other people who do the same - I can start without doing prints for now and just set up with a stand and two soft boxes so I just need to figure out the best way to light it but once I have the equipment set up at home I guess I can have a play.
