Philip Johnes Griffiths - Vietnam war pic

The best book of read on Vietnam is A Bright Shining Lie By Neil Sheehan.

A long book but well worth the read

Got it on order from Amazon and a 2nd hand copy of Vietnam Inc., as mentioned by simonblue. Read a few Vietnam books of late, but like to read numerous accounts.

I intend to. Lots of things happened in that war that are questionable.

I agree, but that's probably true of most wars.

You could also try "Chickenhawk" (Robert Mason) and "365 Days" (Robert Glasser).

I read Chickenhawk a few years ago.

Let us know how you get on with both :)

Both books arrived yesterday. Made a start on Vietnam Inc. last night. Very impressed with the content. The text is informative and the pics have a strong "gritty" appeal.

That was really good. He sounds like a very decent fella and a very good photographer
"Theres a war memorial in Washington for the US killed which is 150 metres long. If we built one for the Vietnamese, it'd be 9 miles long"..... That sums up war to me. It's always been the normal people on the ground that suffer while the generals stay tucked up at home. And it's not getting much better with drone wars
Glad I seen that, cheers
