Phase One, Mamiya to announce new medium format digital system in 2008

Phase One and Mamiya Digital Imaging Co. have announced this morning that they are co-developing a new medium format digital camera system. Details of the new system are to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2008.

You know I have been reading this in medium format circles for the last few weeks (months) that this would be a logical move for both companies.

I also love the line that it is going to be an open system (unlike the "Imafuliblad"). Though this will probably mean a new lens mount which is not good for existing Mamiya owners.
