Pet photography - Best lens to use?

I have been asked by a friend to take some pictures of her Labrador. Having seen the pets on this forum, I am really looking forward to doing it.

My big question is what lens would be best to use? I have the 18-55mm kit lens, nifty fifty and a 55-250mm zoom.

Ideally I want to try to stick to one lens as it will be easier. So I look forward to your advise as well as any other tips for photographing an 8 month old golden Labrador called Millie!!!

Given that it's an 8 month old lab, it probably ain't gonna sit still for long, so the prime might be a struggle. I would go for 55-250 if outside or the 18-55 if indoors. (Outdoors would probably be easier on the lens, but the pup would be moving that much faster!

Any particular settings? I'm figuring it will be best to use the AI servo as you're right, she won't keep still!! What about the auto focussing points?
