Personal Album Organisation

How do people organise their images in their personal galleries if they have them..

For example do you have a folder for locations no matter when the image was taken.. or how do you break it down.

Being into cars I have a car section but would a close up of part of my car go in the car section or my macro section.

Events are easy because they can be in their own collection.. but Is a sunset Landscape and scenery, or is it people if there are people in it.

Does my frog go into a frogs folder or a general wildlife folder... or a location where the frog was folder.. It's so complicated.

I have 4 main categories, Aviation, General, Music, High School Musical. Each of them then has subcategories.

Aviation is splt by date, so a typical folder name could be "Luton 28th april 2008"
General is split by the type of photography e.g. "water photography" and then in there it will have all the different folders e.g. Water photography 1
Music is sub categorised by venue, then the folders are marked by date.
High school musical is now untouched as Ive edited that series of photos and given them to the school (school production)

Its a pretty simple filing system and its so easy to find photos.

Thanks James.. that useful info..

Im currently shuffling about my images and I'm not far off being similar to what you have.

Unfortunately my album only gives me 3 levels.. A collection which contains albums which contains sub albums which have the images.. Ideally I would have liked to have images in the root of the albums as well as in sub albums.. I'll work it out yet!

Mine are in Year followed by sub event folders
