Never had 100% success with my printing output due to the fact I've often used after market inks and papers with an Epsom R300

I have just Been given a mint Epson 2100 A3 printer and have now decided to stick with original inks and papers from Epson. Will the combination of original inks, papers and using their ICC profiles give me near perfect prints when I print from CS5 or are there other factors I need to take into account ?

Regards .. :)

Hi Volusian,

The 2100 is a pretty good printer and you should be able to get the results you're looking for. Aside from the inks and papers you use (and profiles, as you say) you need to have a calibrated monitor too. Getting accurate colour reproduction involves the camera, monitor and printer.

Good luck :)

Ever thought about profiling your media? The Color Munkey can profile your printer.. and your screen. That will get you very close.

Cheap inks and paper are not a problem so long as you profile them. When you profile the printer you are actually profiling the paper/ink combination.

I use a 24 inch Epson printer and Epson ink, but I use Colourbyte for my roll paper. The ColorMunki does a great job in profiling the full system, that includes monitors and printer.
