Yes
I have just washed and tumble dried (hot) my neighbours grandsons 8gb pen drive, and to my amazment it still works fine.
I'm doing my neighbours washing as their machines clapped out, and I assumed that as all the dirty washing was neatly folded they'd checked it before giving it to me.
It just shows how tough solid state stuff is.

What brand is it? Handy to know that some are tougher than they may get credit for being!

I've washed my sandisk cruzer a couple of times and it's still going strong!

corsair survivor lives in my pocket only replaced the last one becasue 8GB wasnt enough space it is still in use though. The 32GB one I have has been washed 4-5 times a few dips in a canal and once in a reservoir. but it is designed to do that.

I'd like to know where my two drives have disappeared too, one is 2GB with loads of useless tat on it, the other is a sandisk cruizer 8GB non standard FS heavily encrypted.
probably out in the ether somewhere.. bloody frustrating :(

I'm afraid I don't know the make, theres nothing on it to say and it just says generic usb drive in properties.
Heres a pic of it though.

Conversely I've been disappointed how flimsy and easily damaged dome are! The wife uses them to carry work around on and after a total failure (not even the pro's could get anything back) a sync toy backup is now carried out after every use!

I did the same with my kids iPod touch a few months back, still works just fine. /phew

If it dries out quickly without having any power put through it no reason why pen drives and other similar devices (ipods) shouldn't survive washing. The tumble drying may have actually helped.
If you drop something like that in water or wash it by mistake just remember DO NOT switch it on or connect it to a power source, dry it quickly, and it should be fine.

Just to add: I'm not recommending tumble drying! It just might have helped here.
Safest way of drying quickly is sticking it in an airtight container with some rice or sugar (or, even better, silica gel, if you have some).
