Hi

Now if anyone can help, that would be great.:) What I'm after is a location where I can practice some shots of water flowing over rocks, or a small waterfall, either in wooded areas or not, that sort of thing.

Preferable:

No further than 40 miles each way of Notts
Not too far to walk to the location (no more than say two miles) from a car park
Dogs allowed

Not asking for much am I? Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

lisa

Dove Dale. Stepping stones, weir under the wooden bridge. flowing water downstream of the car park.
Just off the A50 at Uttoxeter, weir under the new A50 road bridge with the old 1700s bridge as backdrop.

Millers Dale (just north Ashbourne) lots of weirs and the old sheepwash.

All within 500 yards of parking.:D

padley gorge near grindelford is said to be good not got round to going myself yet but its on the too do list.

One other spot is Lumsdale right next to Matlock which has several small waterfalls next to old mill ruins.

3-shires head is miles from the car park. Nice walk though, you can park at the top on the road and walk down...I didn't suggest it because I thought it too far from Nottingham.

greta location though - where Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire meet - you see it on the calendars all the itme.

Another vote for Padley Gorge, it fits your bill about right I think.

Bradford Dale by Youlgrave, Lathkill Dale from Monyash to Haddon Hall

And another vote for the above. Park in Grindleford at the far end i.e. the river/bridge end. Walk across the bridge and take the walkers gate on the right after you have crossed - enjoy the walk, scenery and opportunities. Woods, water falls, streams and plenty of tripod room so as to let any others pass by.

Nice cafe/deli in the village when you return (just above the post office) - good food and great coffee + cakes

Yet another vote for Padley Gorge, plenty of parking near railway station.
Took this a few weeks ago.
