Peak Design Slide Lite - Sliding/Slipping

Morning all.

I love the Peak Design connection thing, with the anchors and flexibility that brings. I also like the two connection points as it enables me to balance the weight of the camera/lens better (although wish there was a loop at the far end of the 200-600 but hey ho).

I have a Slide Lite and when I'm carrying something a bit heavier (24-105 or 200-600) the strap adjusters slip. Not instantly, but say when I'm walking for an hour, I can feel the camera/lens lower than it was.

Any solutions other than putting a hole through the strap and fixing it somehow?

Would the normal Slide behave better with the weight?

Any other alternative straps?

ETA - I've seen a YouTube video where the owner was complaining of similar symptoms too... it could still be user error or a duff strap/adjuster.

Ta

I'd contact Peak Design.

They don't seem to give a weight rating for the straps, but this slightly ambiguous entry is on the page.

STRENGTH RATING
Anti-abrasion thermoplastic-corded Anchors can withstand over 200 lbs (90 kg). Safe for use with the largest of professional cameras.

Don't think its the anchors the OP is questioning, sounds to me like the adjusting clamps on the actual strap.

Thanks. May tweet them. The anchors seem fine. It's the adjuster... not the end of the world. I don't mind putting a fixing/rivet (or something) through the strap to keep it in place as I don't really need to adjust it for 200-600 and buy a second strap that I leave adjustable.

I have the slide lite and the camera is at the extreme end of the strap anyway...... it sits quite comfortably on the hip (or behind it) that way.

The normal slide would probably be preferable for a body + long zoom.
Guess it depends on the distance between shoulder and hip across the body. My strap still has around 100mm of movement when the camera and lens is on my hip (or at least in a comfortable walking position)

I have a Leash for light cameras and a Slide for heavy ones.

Heaviest I carry with the slide is an RB67 with lens which tops out at 3kg and it's rock solid. If you weigh your combo and see if it's 3kg or less that should be a good guide.

I didnt say that the OPwas questioning the anchors. I said that one the PD website on the page (for the slide light) they mention the weight limit of the anchors. I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume that applies to the strap as well, given how it is on the page...
