PC Sync lead question

I want to connect my Cactus V2 receiver to my 580 EX II flash by it's PC socket rather than relying on the receiver's hotshoe mount.

Since both the receiver and flashgun have the same PC socket I *think* I can connect them using a PC male to PC male lead? I found a cheap Hama one but it seems to be discontinued. The next cheapest is a Nikon SC-11 Sync cord and is in stock at a couple of places. Anyone know if I'm onto the right thing or barking up the wrong tree?

The way I did it was to buy a cheap hotshoe to PC adaptor and pop that on the bottom of the flash, I think it was about £9 from Jessops

Hi and thanks for replying.:)

I've checked an old hotshoe/PC adapter and as far as I can see it would just mean I would then need a PC male to PC female sync lead? I've found a Hama version of the PC male to male lead I think I need for £8 and have ordered one so I should find out if it works in the next day or so :)
