Hi all,
Has anyone had the flashing black screen issue on Win 10?
My wifes pc which has a few issues with other things randomly flashes black - this is a fairly common issue as far as I can make out but we can't seem to fix it
Some say its the " windows error reporting" service which we have disabled and also Icloud which we have deleted - none of this makes a difference !

Any ideas please !!

Could you swap monitors to see if the fault follows the hardware, or are you using a laptop?

It’s not the monitor- tried a different one and it still does it

If you have more than one method of connecting the PC to the monitor ( DVI, HDMI etc) that might be worth trying.
Does the PC have on board graphics or a separate graphics card?

Its only on board graphics- I will see if I can find a different cable to try - maybe an hdmi

Macke sure your onboard graphics is using the manufacturer supplied driver and is not using the Microsoft graphics driver.

Thanks- how can you tell?

Right click on 'my computer' and chjoose properties. Select device manager and then display adapters. Double click the display adapter and then driver. It should tell you who made the driver.

Thanks I’ll have a look - my wife seems to think that it starts the “flashing “ after she watches a video on Facebook or YouTube so maybe it is something to do with the graphics

Do Windows updates and make sure all the drivers are up to date for everything. If it persists then reinstall the previous Windows version if it worked there and you need it to be working. Otherwise it could be a bad driver for the on-board graphics or it's about to pack in. Do you see any pixelated colours on the screen when it does it?

Thanks- no there is no pixelated colours on screen - it literally goes black for probably a second then returns to normal with no error message
Its driving the wife mad ! She's going out in a bit so I can have a play around- stand by !

The graphics driver is provided by the Intel Corporation

Quick update- I have re-connected with HDMI cable and all is good at the moment! Had to tweak settings as there was no sound and the screen was too big !
