Pc-External drive issue

Having an issue with my pc not seeing certain files on my external hard drive.When I edit images in photoshop and save as jpg they save fine however if I try to upload to say flickr etc then the files cant been seen.I can see all other files as normal but not any new ones I do.Is there a hide button that allow you to see and save in photoshop but cant be seen on a search.Even setting the file search to all files then it cant be seen.Any ideas.

Are you using a PC (Win7?) with external usb drive?
Are you sure the fail saved?
Does it happen if you save to internal drive?

There is a option to see all files in windows but I don't think you can hide out of PS unless the folder you are saving to has been hidden
 
Im using Win 8.1 with external usb drive.I edit in photoshop CC and all is fine-files shows and saves as normal.If I try to upload anywhere then the recent files cannot be found-just as though they are missing or hidden. I have the "show hidden files" button ticked but still not showing where all other files added before yesterday show up as normal. I can save to my desktop etc and then the files can be found in a search but not straight from my external drive for some reason.
 
What happens if you do this:
  1. Upload a non-recent file (let's call it 'A') to Flikr, or wherever
  2. Find 'A' in Windows Explorer
  3. Open it in IrfanView and save it again with a different name ('B') in the same directory
  4. Try to upload 'B' to Flikr, or wherever
If 'B' is found and uploads, try 1-4 again but use Photoshop instead of Irfanview.

Btw, have you run a virus scan on the external USB drive. Probably worth doing one before 1-4 above.
 
Is it saving the file extension correctly as Flikr will only look for image files with specific extensions if I remember correctly?
