Paving slabs etc etc

Now I know this is a photography forum but I though I might ask around. Can't blame a guy for asking.

I am planning to give a makeover to the front & back of my house with paving slabs and the bits & bobs like fencing, garden soil levelling etc.

I was wondering if anyone would recommend a decent bloke who would be interested in doing the above jobs. Have been in touch with few (cowboys if you fancy calling them) and haven't gone too far. I live in Sunbury, just by JCT 1 of M3.

I do all of my own stuff where i can, but the best bet is try and find someone in your area who has ahd work just done or in the process of having it done and then ask the people if they are pleased etc.. then if your happy tap the builder up for a quote. Other way is to ring half a dozen get them round see what you think of them face to face and price wise, then ask to see prevoius work/speak to previous customers. HTH.

Hey Glen, I did exactly what you said. This guy was working opposite my house at his mum-in-laws place and I tapped him, showed him around what I wanted and fortunately (or unfortunately for him) he told me that he has done the paving slabs for another house on the block. Went and asked the owner and said he wasn't too pleased with the work so I dropped out.

Also called a few guys but could not trust anyone to handover a 5K job so thought of asking around on TPF.

5K seems a bit steep for slabs and fencing and a bit of labour?

No No it's slabs front & back, fencing and fixing a 70 feet garden.
