Yes
And I need advice already :help:
Can I just create an album on TP and link my pictures to that? Or do I have to use my flickr account?
Good luck to everyone taking part in 2014
Thanks for your help

Hi Paul & :welcome:

look forward to seeing your images (y)

So after a lot of heartaches and headaches and with an amazing amount of help and tolerance from my fellow 2014 52ers I have managed to get my first offering onto my thread!....... Learned something already Thanks guys and gals! Now all I have to do is get it onto the pictures only thread with a link back to here:thinking:

Well spotted and on theme. I'd prefer either front on or mire if an angle. Looks a tad flat.

Yet smother local that bites the dust.

Good luck with week 1.

Cheers.

Hi Paul,
A different angle might have been better as Andy has pointed out , but a good start
I am sure I know that pub too where is it?

Hi Paul.....Doesnt scream linear or line to me though that may just be me.....I like the photo more for the story it tells than for the treatment. Agree with Lynn here that a gritty mono would work best especially as the lighting is so flat

Cracking image I like that great start.
Thanks Mandy

Good point Andy I think That I could maybe have chosen a different lens? Moved my position? Thanks for the feedback:)

Good start. Welcome on board!
Thank you!

Thanks Allen. The pub is on Parr Stocks Rd in St helens.

Hi Paul
yup , Oddfellows ( what a strange name for a pub  ) so on theme.....I was wondering if a gritty mono converison might work as it may suit the feeling of the derelict building ?
Thanks Lynne. Never thought of converting it to mono! Good idea!

Thanks Jason your right it doesn't:thinking: (This was my 'ODD' offering!)

Hi Paul....I assumed it was for the 'odd' thread and thought it a great choice  as Jason says its an image that tells a story.
Thanks Susie

Hi Paul :)
Odd - Now that was well spotted, fits the theme well, and well done getting the image posted already (y)
Thank you!...... Believe me when I tell you that for someone who did not know their BB codes from their URL ones it was an initiation by stress!

Paul, Good image, glad your sorted :)

The tree growing out of the chimney would have made a good 'odd' image on its own

On theme with the name of the (ex)pub. I think going in on this at a greater angle may have given more impact but that's just my take on it.

apart from the slopy horizon........ ;) it fits the bill perfectly, could probably take a crop off the bottom to give a more 2/3 to 1/3 ratio of sand to sea and sky.

Hi Paul
Yes horizon and post at RHS are a bit wonky. Agree with Graham re crop and i would like to see the donkeys lightened a bit. With those fixes you have a good shot for the theme with the two figures on the horizon and the man with the plastic bag framing the line

Quite chuffed with myself TBH! I managed to get my linear picture onto my flickr account, Then got it to display on my 2014 '52' thread, Then (eventually) got it to display and link back from the 2014 '52' pictures only thread:banana: Without, as was the case last week annoying everyone (Mandy and Phil-D-) with trival questions about how to do it! So hopefully by the end of the year I should be able to do it with not to many problems (fingers crossed!}

the "odd" sign was well spotted, as others have said would crop your second picture so the line of donkeys stands out better.

Hi Paul
Just a friendly pointer and hope you don't mind if I point out that twice you have posted comments on others' shots on the '52-for-2014-post-your-photos-here-no-comments-please' thread. The point of that thread is just to post the shots with a link. The clue is in the title --- no-comments-please' :) Then click on the link that the poster has put with the picture and that will take you to that person's thread and you can comment there.

On theme. Agree with other crit, plus could do with brightening a bit, I think.

The horizon has been mentioned and the lighting is a bit flat but the link to the theme is definitely there and captures a traditional British seaside scene.
