Patch tool

In CS4, I'm not sure if I'm using the patch tool properly. When I select, then move the part of the image, where I've moved it from, there's still part of the image there, like the opacity is set too low.

I probably haven't explained what I mean but if anyone can offer any help, or tell me how to use the patch tool properly, I'd appreciate it.

Have you got the transparent box ticked, this may cause the problem you described.

Lisa, is there any chance you could post a before and after sample, or a screenshot?

I've used this tool a few times and usually got good results with it, however there are cases when it doesn't work. I noticed if the mask of the section you're patching goes close or through an edge into another contrasting colour you get a strange colour cast in the blending. It depends what you're trying to do really, sometimes the clone tool is better to use.
