Hi all

I'm after some advice and not sure if this is in the right forum

I am after a free online photo hosting site that I can put a load of holiday snaps on to for my other halfs parents to view. As the pictures are holiday snaps don't really want everyone to be able to see them, nothing seedy at all but some of the pictures are a bit naff for my flickr account :) Had a quick look at Picassa but wasn't sure if i could protect images uploaded to there?

Thanks in advance
Alex

fotopic does for sure, as I have pics of our son one one...........go on click on the link below to take a look.

Not sure about others but fotopic.net allow password protection for galleries

Isn't there a way to only allow certain users viewing access to sets in Flickr?

Failing that, set up a facebook account with them as the only friend and only allow friends access to your pics?

The problem with this method is you need to become friends within Flickr with each person that is allowed to view.

fotopic.net and others that allow password protection is easier as you only need to give out the password to people who are allowed to view

Burn a CD and post it to them?

Hi,

I have a Picasa account because it is so easy to upload photos to it and, yes you can have private albums - when you create an album you decide what level of privacy it should have.

I have given the password to my family and they can look at the protected albums as well as the public ones.

I use photobox to print photo's and you can put a different password on each album you create on there and email it to the people who you want to show the pictures too.. and they can order prints from right off the site. It's not really a web gallery I know... but it does the same job in many ways imho.

Only downer is that they have to sign up for a photobox account i think - but that is free, just a hassle since it's an extra step. But again, having their account set up means they can just order prints right off the gallery.
