Hi all,

I'm just wondering, does it matter on the paper you use for passport photographs i.e. does it need to be a certain thickness or glossy or matte etc? Or can it just be everyday photo paper?

Thanks all.

No rules on the paper used. Check the passport office site for the rules.

Glossy paper is frowned upon.

Being the only photographers close to the Durham Passport office we do between 30-60 passport snaps a week as well as driving licence and visa pics for foreigners wishing to stay in the UK and use a lustre dye sub paper. We have never had one back yet! Inkjet paper would also be fine, there is no stipulation on thickness (gsm) of paper.

All ours are done using glossy on a dye sub and never had a problem, (finds some wood to touch),

So it looks like anything will do.

Glossy dye sub and never a problem
