Hi,

Having been asked by a friend at work if I would be kind enough to take some outdoor portrait photos of his family(weather permitting) I'm not sure where is worth checking out that's local to me. I live in the Isle Of Sheppey, and his family live in Chatham so somewhere between the two would be ideal as his wife is not a good long distance traveller. Sure I know of a few parks(Mote park, Riverside etc) but they don't strike me as great for portraits, more for landscape scenes.

Any suggestions?

Mike.

Not specifically a park - but have you considered Harty? You have the church, feilds and farms. I've got a few good people shots around there using the swale as a backdrop.

There's a small park in queenborough - opposite the dutchman - I've found that to be a nice location for people shots - it has established flower beds and well position benches (remarkably yobo free too). You also have the added benefit of the quayside and the front which give 2 additional locations close by.
