I know it's crazy. I have the kit, and used it well years and years ago, but I appear to have become a bit of a techno-phobe about it, since buying my DSLR.
I have the Pentax K100D, and often use the built in flash. I've also plucked up the courage to fire off a shoe mounted Centon gun that I bought for the MZ10, and that appears to work quite nicely.
the fear comes from using a set of old mains powered studio flash units.
Photolight 115 and 175 bought as a kit some time in the 80's? I've read through the instructions, and can find the input power details,a nd of course the light output - but no details of the power sent back down the sync cable.
I also can't find in my camera instructions the aceptable level going back into the hot shoe (I'll be using one of those little hot shoe to cable adapters)
I don't want to damage the camera with a power surge, as there is no way I can afford to replace this camera if it all goes tits up - So there is my dillema.
Any suggestions?
Finally, I noticed that it recomends that if left unused for a long period of time, they suggest pluggin the unit in once a week to maintain the capacitors..... That may be a problem, as these have not been used for about 10 years :bang:
