So, quick simple question: why store them upright?

Up until now I have been using half rolls at home but have bought a couple of full sized rolls. Working out exactly how big I can get away with but I shall have to chop a bit off them. Obviously storing anything above 8ft vertically at home is impossible...

Through lying down, horizontally?? That sounds more likely through standing up with the weight flattening the bottom? Or am I having a senior moment...

Yes, when it's horizontally on the ground. No matter how tight you roll it up, the roll will deform. If you store it vertically, most of the weight it supported by the inner tube, not the paper itself.

Was my concern Dean. It's pretty dry in there, especially into the warmer months now, but if it isn't, I shall have to rethink it. Tricky for most domestic properties really.
 
Now, I KNOW you're supposed to store them upright, and I KNOW not to store them in the garage ... BUT... I store mine laying flat, in the garage, never had a problem *knocks wood*... However, having said that, my shorter rolls I do store upright. But still in the garage, much to my husband's disgust at the space I'm taking over in his man cave. :)

The new Lastolite ones are poly wrapped anyway Beth so not too concerned about them ;) My half rolls are easy enough to keep upright...
