Paper background - geting rid of uneveness

I've got a roll of paper that I've had for a year or so and when I set it up and unroll it, it doesnt hang 'flat'. It's not creased but the unevenness shows up in shots.

Is there anything I can do or shall I just replace it ?

You could probably try covering with a sheet, and ironing the creases/patches out, can't think of much else as it's paper, if your only using for small items as in your photo, you could run the photos through PS to smooth out, failing all that i think you may have to buy new, has the roll got slightly damp at any stage to cause it to bubble like that ?
 
Shouldn't have got damp. PP is a pain. I've left it hanging and we'll see how it looks in the morning.
 
Oof will blur the edges, but the difference in colour will stay.... Plus its already shot at f1.4 and I don't have that much room !

Just in case I'm missing a trick, what would you do in PS to get rid of the uneveness ?
