I've got a group of images I want to print off as A3s. They are art nudes. As I've heard several people mention that images like this can look really good printed on papers other than the usual semi-glosss. I'm curious what other paper options might work?

The printer is an Epson R2400 (if this matters? ) and the papers I currently have are the various types in the Permajet A3 Fine Art Pack. I've downloaded profiles for all of them so that won't be an issue but I'd rather avoid using up paper needlessly if anyone can give me a few tips about what will or won't work based on the images.

Two of the images can be found in the Talk Photography Nudes and Glamour Photography forum. I've already tried printing the "seated nude" on a A4 piece of Permajet Textured Art Silk but found the image to be very dull, especially when compared to the same image printed on Epson Semi-gloss.

The one I'm most keen to try is the second "Legs" shot. Thanks in advance :)

I've had superb results of 'arty' work using an R2400 and Epson's own matt paper. Just make sure you use the matt black ink! ;) Some of the best B/Ws I've ever printed also .......

Use the paper made by your printer manufacturer.
Simple and it works (usually)

Thanks for that :)

I'm very happy with the results I've got so far using Epson's gloss and semi-gloss papers but wanted to try some other types of paper and Epson's A4 & A3 range seems to be pretty limited...hence my original post ;)

Chris

These 2 papers are very very nice I have printed onto these hundreds of times, at work and the prints always look superb.

No mater what paper you use download the profile for paper and printer from the paper manufacturer .

Epson's own Smooth fine art paper isn't too bad either (I have a 17" roll of it if you want to try it)

Thanks for the links Mark. They were singing the praises of Hahnemuehle at the local camera club this week.

I'd be very interested in trying the Smooth actually!

I've had a look online and there seems to be very little choice about. Epson make several fine art papers but none seem to be available in A4/A3 sizes. Anyone found anyone who stocks these sort of papers by Epson in A4/A3? Better still in West/South Yorkshire :D

You could also try some Velvia Fine Art paper
