Hi,
Just taken delivery of my new Panasonic S5 and wondered what is the best editor to open and edit RAW photos? Don't have any loyalty to any particular program so willing to learn/buy anything really.

Currently using CaptureOne that came free with my Fuji but obviously can't use that on a Panasonic.

The actual make of the camera is really not important :) most decent editing suites will open ANY RAW file

I use Photoshop 2021 its amazing- yet some say expensive @ £120 pa

You have just spent the thick end of £2k on a camera, don't skimp on the editing software PS 2021 is always up to date, you have the helpline available , lots of resources available on the web and it costs less than a cup of coffee a week.
While you are at it have a look here https://www.lightroomqueen.com/ sign up for free ,spend £25.00 and get the LR book , its worth every penny .
Enjoy your new camera

Chris

If they are anything like the Panasonic m4/3 raw then I find Lightroom hard to beat.
I've tried a fair few others on a trial basis and that still seems the best. Adobe Camera Raw which LR uses is also available in various guises in some other Adobe products.

Silkypix which your camera probably comes with isn't bad, I do have their paid for Studio Pro, couple of versions old now though.
The one I didn't like was Affinity Photo, their raw converter is in my opinion pretty awful.

Well as you are already using Capture One, and if you are happy using it, why not just switch the license to a version that both your cameras can use.
