panasonic lumix tz3 v sony a200

I have both of these cameras. I travel alot and have always used the lumix tz3 but I have bought a sony a200. I'm not totally convinced that the sony gives better image quality. What is the opinion from you guys is the sony a better camera?
 
I have a Lumix TZ3 and the first DSLR I bought (Canon 450D) made the pictures that came from the TZ3 look like rubbish.
